Prevention Matters!

Prevention Matters! is an ongoing panel series hosted by the COH that was launched in January 2024.

Its goal is to host approachable conversations on homelessness prevention across the country and around the world, communicating about them in a clear, accessible format. Many of us understand that prevention is necessary if we want to solve the current housing crisis. But if we want to address homelessness through prevention, we must be clear on what prevention means:

  • What can we do to reduce the chances that someone will experience homelessness in the first place?
  • What can be done to support people who are at high risk of homelessness or who have recently become homeless?
  • How can we ensure that people who have experienced homelessness—and who are now housed—do not face housing precarity again?

For all this and more, check out the sessions below! These aren’t your typical webinars — audience participation is at the heart of the series, and there is always space for open dialogue among the panelists. New sessions take place in the last week of the month and will be added to this page shortly after.
